Woodend |
|||
Woodend was established in 1993. It covers an area of 7 acres, and
showcases extensive lawns, flower-beds and tree plantings. The driveway
entrance passes through an extended grove of deciduous trees.
The backdrop to the house is a woodland stand of 100-year-old Gum trees.
In its lee, a mixed planting of Azaleas, Rhododendrons and Lilies thrives.
To the east of the house is a formal area of trees and another mass
planting of Azaleas. A large perennial garden of Roses, Dahlias and
assorted flowering plants flourishes at the front of the house. The
gardens are linked by long vistas of lawn and shrubs. Within the flower
gardens are winding trails, through which the visitor is free to wander.
Woodend has a semi-formal style, supplemented with statues, and structures for climbing plants. Seating is scattered throughout the gardens, to enable you to relax and enjoy your visit. Woodends gardens are fully accessible by wheelchair. |
